Transparent methodology
How the 0–100 score works.
Each applicable answer contributes a reported-practice factor: Yes = 1, Partially = 0.5, No = 0, and Not Sure = 0.25. “Not Applicable” is excluded from both sides of the calculation.
Questions are weighted 1, 2, or 3. A weight of 3 is reserved for practices that can affect foundational access, recovery, sensitive data, or incident response. The calculation is:
Risk Score = 100 × weighted reported practices ÷ maximum applicable weighted practices
The result is rounded to the nearest whole number. Higher scores mean more of the assessed practices were reported as in place; lower scores indicate more or larger gaps to prioritize. Bands are: 0–19 Foundational, 20–39 Developing, 40–59 Progressing, 60–79 Established, and 80–100 Stronger reported practices. These bands are prioritization labels — see the full disclaimer above your results.
Local storage and privacy
Answers, timestamps, completed-score history, and before/after comparisons are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can resume and reassess. They are not transmitted to Responsible Cloud. The only exception is the optional email field beneath your results: if you choose to enter an address there, that address and a copy of your score, priority actions, and findings are sent to Responsible Cloud so we can deliver your results and keep a record for follow-up. Nothing leaves your browser if you skip that field. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to view your locally saved data. Clear the saved assessment when using a shared device, and do not enter passwords, customer records, or sensitive system details.
